A filter thread, bayonet ring, or optional adapter allows wet-lenses (wide-angle and macro adapters) and underwater colour-correction filters to be attached. Some housings can be used with push-fit filter holders.
Manual or user-adjustable white-balance permits optimal use of natural light underwater.
RAW file output alows image post-processing with minimal loss of quality.
In most cases the built-in flash can be used, but results can be poor in turbid conditions. An optional external slave flash will reduce backscatter and give greater illumination. See flash section.
